Deepening in Love at Lena Lake (10/12)
This Thursday (10/12), we'll take a daylong retreat to a stunningly beautiful alpine lake! The trail there is a moderate 3.7 miles with many opportunities for writing and rest along the way.
This Thursday, October 12th, come write and hike with us at beautiful Lower Lena Lake!

In this full day retreat, we’ll not only journey to a gorgeous location, we’ll also get a good workout along the way. The trail to Lena Lake is 3.7 miles one-way, with a gradual, nicely-graded climb on a well-maintained trail — perfect for beginner-to-intermediate hikers. In addition a rare low-altitude alpine lake, this trail features both old- and second-growth forest, with peek-a-boo views of the Olympic Mountains in the Brothers Wilderness, an awe-inspiring (and lovingly sentient!) glacial erratic.
As with all of our retreats, the full day hike to Lena Lake will feature writing prompts and exercises to deepen our connection to our own creative selves through the natural world around us.
Additional Notes:
If you’re worried about keeping up with the group, don’t fret — this hike is taken at your own pace, with time for writing checkpoints along the way and a group meet-up for lunch.
Because of Lena Lake’s beauty and accessibility, the trail is quite popular and is best avoided on weekends, which is why this is scheduled for mid-week.
